　　問題：Which of the following statements regarding the value chain is correct?

　　(1) Procurement relates to buying raw materials to be used in operations

　　(2) Operations relates to turning inputs into outputs and is therefore only applicable to a manufacturing organisation

　　A. Neither (1) nor (2).

　　B. (2) only.

　　C. (1) only.

　　D. Both (1) and (2).

　　答案：The correct answer is:Neither (1) nor (2).

　　Procurement relates to buying anything into the business across all the primary activities. This may include raw materials under inbound logistics but also machinery for operations, packaging materials for outbound logistics etc. Operations can be related to the service sector although it may be more difficult to identify.
